Regardless of what you think about the Sea Shepherd Society and its tactics, ( and South Park did a brutal commentary on them this year), this footage seems to show that the Japanese deliberately rammed a vessel in Antarctic waters, deliberately risking human life. The Japanese vessel can be clearly be seem veering toward the almost stationary vessel and ramming it. While the Japanese claim their yearly harvesting of whales is exclusively for research purposes, all the meat is sold for human consumption. I'm hard pressed to think of any other research effort that would act in such an aggressive manner.

Watching the South Park episode now. Hilarious!
It definitely is. I'd watched the last two seasons of whale wars, mainly to see what screw ups they were, and how impotent their protests where.
