Ignorance is bliss

Americans Angry About Obamacare Tweet About 'Moving To Canada'
HuffPost Canada reports:
The U.S. Supreme Court upheld President Barack Obama's health care plan on Thursday, in a 5-4 decision.
The President's health care plan, considered to be a key part of his domestic agenda, has been opposed by Republicans and many right-wing Americans.
Many Americans who were upset at the Supreme Court decision took to Twitter to voice their anger. Weirdly enough, many Americans tweeted about 'moving to Canada' to escape socialized medicine.

"I'm moving to Canada, the United States is entirely too socialist," tweets @wallyweldon.

What is even stranger is that so called Obamacare is basically a Republican plan. Unlike Canada's single payer-system,  it uses private insurance companies. That's the free market folks. It is health insurance reform, not health care reform.

The individual mandate was first put forth by the Heritage Foundation, a conservative think tank, with the stated mission to "formulate and promote conservative public policies based on the principles of free enterprise, limited government, individual freedom, traditional American values, and a strong national defense".

The mandate was supported by a majority of former Republican presidents (Nixon, Ford, and Daddy Bush), and is the cornerstone of Romney Care.

One has to ask, why was it ok when it was a Republican idea, but not now. Is it because we have a Democratic president? Is it Obama Derangement Syndrome? No one on the right has answered that question.
