In Boulder, pet ownership is a thing of the past
Boulder is one of the handful of places that have enacted pet guardian legislation. Among other things, this means that animals are companions, and humans are our guardians, not owners. And this isn't even California! Of course, one could ask why you have to pay for and license a companion? It turns out that Boulder city attorneys constructed the language so that "owner" and "guardian" could be used interchangeably, the rewording does not affect our human's legal rights and responsibilities with regard to us. So that means I still have to walk on a leash. But that's ok! Woof.

Guardian? What a load of hooey. The human has teeth, but does he use them? No. He has nails, but does he use them? No! He has a voice, but does he growl or hiss? No!
It's all just posturing and preening be the creatures who actually use us as guardians.
By the way, thanks for the nice comment on my blog, Kelly. For a dog, you're not half bad.
