Well this is right around the corner! First it was prairie dogs and squirrels. Now its cats. There is nothing left to chase. Poor kitty.

LOUISVILLE, Colorado
A cat in Louisville, Colorado recently died of plague. Boulder County health officials sounding a warning.

Plague persists year-round, contrary to widely-held beliefs that the disease is only found during summer months. Fleas spread the infectious disease to wild rodents and other small mammals; including prairie dogs, rabbits, rats and squirrels. Officials said keeping pets indoors is the best way to protect them from plague.
