Rachel wants a dictatorship. If you strip down her suggested speech to its logical core, she's basically saying that Obama should do whatever he wants and remove all rules to get there.
Humm, thats not what I heard, but I'll have to listen to it again. That said, Carebear's speech was absolutely dreadful. Quite possibly the worst he's made so far. So virtually anything is an improvement.
I have to admit, I've stopped paying attention for the most part, my most recent post notwithstanding. I've had a fantastic time listening to 10 Books That Screwed Up the World: And 5 Others That Didn't Help that it's shot me in an entirely new direction - finding the philosophical underpinnings of what the Obamas and Boehners and Putins of the world are saying and doing.
Between reconciling human nature with the implicit foundations of the decisions politicians are making and the inexorable march of mathematics through our budgets, I'd suggest that individual events like a speech are irrelevant. Of course, cotton candy is irrelevant, too, but it's too filled with deliciousness to avoid devouring!
