So the VP is in trouble again. This time he was quoted saying nothing that wasn't on everyone's mind already - that his family should avoid public travel until the flu outbreak starts to settle down. This of course upset the travel industry and resulted in a White House slap down. The guy just an't win.

He only said what everyone was already thinking.
Maybe so, but he's the VP. It's different when a guy in a bar says that than when a fellow who is getting daily national security briefings says it. If the drunk on the barstool next to you says he's concerned about public transportation to the point that he won't let any family member on it, you don't start wondering just what he knows that he's not telling you.
I guess my immediate assumption is that Joe doesn't really know any more than I do. I guess that means I really don't take him that seriously.
