Slightly off topic: What do you think of Obama softening his stance on offshore drilling? From a purely political point of view this seems to be poisonous for the Dems. Right after Pelosi and Reid throw themselves and all their colleagues into the wood chipper in defense of restrictions on offshore drilling, Obama reverses himself and leaves them all hanging out to dry. One can only imagine the rage in the Democratic cloakrooms.
Denver might indeed turn nasty, but not in the way Recreate 68 had imagined. As his lead melts away and he blunders about,I would think the Clintonistas would be nauseated by the amateurishness of the whole thing. Imagine what Denver will be like if he goes into Invesco down by 5 points.
KT, there is certainly a feeling of being betrayed by his recent actions on off shore drilling and the FISA bill. But anyone disappointed simply wasn't paying attention. He's a conservative democrat. Only the Republicans think he's a communist. His voting record is exactly like Hilary. I don't think she'd be doing much better. Remember she lost a primary that should have been her's without much effort.
Fact is the swing voters aren't paying attention now. They probably won't until the convention. So I don't see it hurting him too much.
I do wonder about the convention. We'll see in a few weeks.

I loved this ad! They must be working because the polls are now either tied or within one or two points.
Of course, it helps to have your opponent blunder about for a week...

Or am I way off base here?
KT,
