UFO
White Sands National Monument is surrounded by the White Sands Missile range.
The missile range museum showcased new technology,
and old technology,
and something that looks like it landed near Roswell

Road Trip to southern New Mexico
Last week Kelly and Andy took a road trip to southern New Mexico. Kelly did most of the driving, but tended to fog up the glass. Our destination was White Sands National Monument.
Andy checked out the lodging. It was both of their first time in a camping cabin. The beds were more comfortable than their usual tent camping.
It was a very tiring trip for the little dogs.
More photos of the trip to follow.

The day after
In 1983 the miniseries The Day After was released to a frightened nation. Despite its Disney'ish portrayal of the horrors of surviving a nuclear war (see the frighteningly real British film Threads as a comparison), it scared Reagan enough to no longer think in terms of a winnable nuclear exchange. Is anyone creating the Global Heating version of the The Day After.

Digging through the past
I've been digging through some very old negatives. I took this back in the late 1970's. I converted it to a digital image using my camera and a slide copier, then used photoshop to reverse the image back to positive. The fog is from mixing water with dry ice. I can't remember why we did this, but it looked pretty interesting.
