You are so right. My girlfriend has a positively enormous pit bull. She'd take care of the raccoon problem right quick. Unfortunately, she'd take care of the cat problem right quick, too!
That was really mysterious. It seemed too big to be nesting materials. Maybe, like humans, it did it just because it seemed like a good idea at the time.
Has the little fella come back? Can you get more video?
We had a little family of raccoons in the back yard of a while. My neighbor and I started feeding them when we realized that the snails in the garden were disappearing. It was great.
Looking up urban wildlife like raccoons and possums only leads you to how to get rid of them sites, not how to live with them.
I know there can be a downside, but we didn't find any problems with them. They stopped coming. We suspect another neighbor did them in.
Rose, glad you enjoyed the video. I didn't take it though. I posted it because of KT's ongoing raccoon problems. Strangely we don't see many raccoons around here. We see foxes, coyotes, and we're over run with rabbits. That of course might explain the frequent sightings of the first two.

OH! That is SO CUTE!
BUT - makin' me rethink putting in that kitty door.
Now I've had to give repeat showings to all the kids in the neighborhood! Great post!
Glad everyone has enjoyed the link. I was so impressed with how good it was. I still wonder why it took the carpet at the end?

I like having them around.
