How the Gingrich Stole Christmas

So when elderly Greek citizens see their pensions cut to the point where they can't afford housing because the government spent too much money on the other social programs like education and public employee unions, who is the Grinch? Is it the person who tried to stop the increased spending that led to the fiscal collapse?

I think you've completely missed the point of the video. It's making fun of right wing hysteria toward the Obamas. Newt has a long history of throwing gas on the fire.

I know, but I'm being serious here. What's the fallback position when government spending destroys the country? For years, the grinchy people who didn't support this or that new program were painted as heartless villains.

Now who's the grinch?

KT,
take a deep breath and reflect on the richness of your life. You new family and your new life.

Then realize that there is little we can do about the national problem. What you still don't accept is that both parties are corrupt. Both parties spend more than they tax. Republicans cut taxes and increase spending, while the democrats tax and increase spending. Legislation is written by the lobbyists who it is supposed to regulate. We spend money on weapon systems for wars we no longer need to prepare for. The whole system is broken. If you believe Dwight Eisenhower, its been that way since the 1950's.

Until we get the big money out of national politics, its hopeless. McCain was right about campaign finance reform. And declaring corporations people with free speech rights was the final nail in the coffin. I've decided to focus on state and lower politics. Citizens can still have some input at that level.
