Dog park

OK, just had two more cars run their dogs through the campground. Seems the locals use the campground as their dog park. People.

People

You see some strange things in camp grounds. Today's comes pretty close to the top of the list.

We've got the campgrounds pretty much to ourselves. At least until the bike race hits town on Friday, when the town's size is expected to double. Im sitting here sipping on caffeine, enjoying the first rays of the morning sun, and I see a car heading our way. One of those new VW beetles to be precise. Canary yellow. It drives over the bridge spanning the Yampa to the campground and starts hooking it's horn. I look around wondering what on earth this intruder is honking at. Then I see it. Two dogs cross the bridge to catch up with the car. The car then slowly drives the loop and the dogs trot along.

Strange I think. But trying to assume people do the particular things they do for good reason, I assume the driver must be unable to walk his dogs. I recall an elderly lady who would drive around a park with her arm out the window, and a dog leash in hand. Despite the obvious danger to the dog, the lady and the dog seemed to have an understanding. Here this was not the case, because toward the end of the loop, the man got out of the car and rounded up the two dogs. Showing no difficulty running after them.

Thank Tea Party

Thanks Tea Party for decimating what little is left of my 401K.

(Thanks to Mock, Paper, Scissors for finding this one.)
